Let’s build a healthy routine to maintain glowing skin and shiny hair!
January is the month that many of us establish our positive intentions for the year ahead. That usually means creating a new healthy routine to follow after the busy holiday season.
I’m not huge on creating new years resolutions, although I do like to get a fresh start in January by establishing a routine where I can feel at my best.
Below I am sharing 4 Ways To Create A Healthy Routine that work for me in my life. I find them all easy to follow and they all help me to maintain healthy hair and skin as well as a restful sleep schedule.
First things first… WATER before coffee.
The best part of the morning is taking your first sip of coffee… am I right!? Just smelling the coffee brewing away before you have even taken your first sip is so comforting.
BUT before I even think about coffee, I always start my morning off with a huge cup of water. Choosing water before coffee provides a positive kickstart to the day by properly hydrating and cleansing the body. It can improve digestion, metabolism and mental clarity.
I have been choosing to drink water before my morning coffee for years now and I can truly say that it makes the world of difference in my hydration levels and the overall health of my body.
Incorporating Vitamins & Probiotics
I have been taking vitamins daily for the past couple of years to help support a healthy immune system along with plenty of other reasons!
Although recently, I have started to incorporate a probiotic into my daily routine to help restore the balance of natural bacteria within my digestive system. Focussing on good gut health can help aid digestive issues and even some intolerances to certain foods.
I was so happy to find that out because there are certain foods that I absolutely love, but I am not able to eat without feeling ill… like avocados for example.
I am interested to see how probiotics will work for me long term.
Nourishing the body by creating balance
I believe balance is key when trying to create a healthy routine. For each of us, a healthy routine will mean something totally different.
For me…I absolutely love cooking, so I try to make sure I am cooking my meals at home as much as possible so that I know exactly what I am putting in my body.
I also love to stop by my local farmers market and pick up some cold pressed juices once a month from Better Fresh. You guys they are so sooo good! My fave flavour being “Popeye”… spinach, cucumber, apple, pear and lemon. So refreshing and delicious!
My balanced routine also includes a delicious glass of wine every once in a while as well 😉
Replacing my phone with a book in the evenings
I am trying to get in the habit of lowering my social media intake and replacing my phone with a book in the evening before I go to bed.
I love reading and I find choosing to wind down with a good book before bed helps my mind to relax so that I can have a restful sleep. Maintaining a proper sleep schedule reduces stress, improves your mood, energy levels, immune system and overall health.
There you have it… the 4 Ways To Create A Healthy Routine that I have been sticking to!
All of these things have made a positive impact on my hair and skin, as well as allowing me to feel more energized in my day to day!
