Let’s get cooking and try my Strawberry Basil Crostini with Melty Brie!
I believe one of the most endearing and truly simple ways to show gratitude to the people you love, is by cooking for them! This is why I tend to gravitate more towards sharable meals and appetizers because they are interactive and everyone can enjoy them together 🙂
With summer in full swing, my Strawberry Basil Crostini with Melty Brie is the perfect shareable bite! I think you are really going to like it!
This recipe is truly hands down one of the simplest appetizers to make and seriously so GOOD.
All you need is 6 ingredients! The summer strawberries and fresh basil bring so much brightness and don’t even get me started on the melty brie… drool!! Everything is brought together on a toasty baguette with a drizzle of balsamic glaze!
Give it a try! It is enjoyed best on the patio in the sunshine 😉
Strawberry Basil Crostini with Melty Brie
Ingredients:
1 Baguette
300 g Wheel of Brie
Good Quality Olive Oil
8-10 Fresh Strawberries
A Handful of Fresh Basil
Nonna Pia’s Balsamic Glaze
Method
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cut the baguette on an angle into slices approximately 3/4 inch thick. Place the bread onto a greased baking sheet and lightly drizzle with a small amount of good quality olive oil onto each slice.
Slice the brie into strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick and place them onto each slice of bread. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the bread is toasty and the brie is nice and melty.
Cut the fresh strawberries into thin slices and set aside.
Next, roughly chop the basil into strips.
When the bread is fresh out of the oven, layer on the fresh strawberries and basil. Drizzle with the balsamic glaze and there you have it!
Enjoy!!
I hope you love this simple and delicious appetizer as much as I do!
