Entertaining guests can often times become stressful and seem like a lot of work when you are the host! The most important thing is that you and your guests ENJOY THEMSELVES 🙂
My Top 4 Tips to Help You Entertain like a Pro is a simple and easy guide that will have you looking like you know exactly what you are doing!
I have featured my Easy Fall Themed Charcuterie Board in this post! You can check it out here if you want to see what I used!
Don’t Forget the Appetizers!
Most guests will usually show up to a dinner party hungry! If you’ve ever attended or hosted a dinner party, then you know that dinner is rarely served straight away after the guests arrive. It’s important to give your guests time to settle in and mingle with each other before rushing into the meal. Having appetizers set out and ready to go is the perfect way to give your guests something to nibble on while socializing before dinner is served!
In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a delicious charcuterie or cheese board! There is no science to putting these together so they are quick and easy to prepare! Appetizer boards can include something for everyone, plus they look delicious and appetizing! Feel free to check out my Easy Fall Themed Charcuterie Board 🙂
Keep Things Simple
Try not to overwhelm yourself by getting to extravagant with your entertaining plans! Simplicity is key and will save you a ton of time and relive unnecessary stress!
Consider setting up a mini bar so your guests can help themselves and mix up their own drinks with the ingredients you have set out for them. Pitcher cocktails are also lovely as you can make them ahead of time and serve multiple guests without getting stuck behind the bar all night. My Fruity White Wine Sangria is a great cocktail for entertaining!
Preparation is Key
When hosting a party, make sure to give yourself enough time to plan, prepare and execute your vision! Being prepared takes away the unwanted stress out of hosting a get together so you can have time to enjoy yourself!
First things first… plan the menu ahead of time so that you have time to pick up all of the ingredients from the grocery store before the day of the get together. Pick dishes that are easy to prepare and won’t take you away from your guests for too long. The goal is to spend more time with your guests and less time by yourself in the kitchen. Make sure to take into account how many guests you will be feeding so that you can ensure there will be plenty of food!
Next you want to get a few things prepped and ready before your guests arrive. This includes setting the table, setting up any decorations or placing flowers on the table and putting out glassware, bar items and appetizers.
Set the Vibe with Music
Have you ever been to a party with no music, or music that you can barely tell is playing!? Yeah I thought so… probably not a party that you remember as being fun and memorable.
Music sets the tone for the whole evening and lightens up the mood so your guests can feel comfortable and have fun! Consider creating a playlist before hand so you won’t have to fuss with the music all night.
