Happy Weekend my loves! Let’s create the ultimate crowd pleasing bagel brunch bar!
We have officially entered the most fabulous season of all… brunch season. Who doesn’t love a good brunch!?
Today I am sharing my take on how to create the ultimate crowd pleasing Bagel Brunch Bar, with of course, the best bubbly mimosas!
Personally, this time of year always has me in full brunch mode. Bottomless mimosas and my guilty pleasure… bagels!
The best part about bagels is they are so low maintenance! Whether you are having a little brunch get together with your girlfriends, family, or even just sitting down with your significant other for some tasty bites, a toasty bagel with yummy toppings is sure to satisfy!
For my Bagel Brunch Bar, I included:
- 3 types of bagels (Everything, 12 Grain and Cinnamon Raisin)
- Cream Cheese (Light and Herb & Garlic)
- Homemade fruit Jam
- Sliced Avocado (you can also include mashed)
- Fresh Cucumber Slices
- Fresh Garden Radishes
- Fresh Tomato Slices
- Fresh Dill
- Crispy Capers
Other items that are lovely to include are:
- Hard Boiled Eggs
- Smoked Salmon
- Fresh or Pickled Red Onions
- Hummus with toasted Pine Nuts
- Butter or Flavoured Butters
- Fresh Figs
- Fresh Herbs (basil, cilantro, chives)
The Bagels
One of the most important items to include is the vessel for all of the yummy toppings… the bagels. I recommend including at least two different flavours, I used three flavours for my brunch bar. I try to include both savoury and sweet flavours to provide guests with a good variety.
The Spreads
You can’t forget the spreads! The spreads create the perfect base flavour for all of your toppings to sit on. Try to incorporate a few different kinds that can work well with both sweet and savoury flavours. I included light cream cheese, herb & garlic cream cheese and homemade fruit jam.
The Toppings
This is where you can get real creative! The possibilities are endless when it comes to the toppings you can use on your bagels! I tend to stick to fresh items like produce and fresh herbs. It is also nice to add a little crunch with your toppings. Items such as crispy capers or nuts & seeds work very well.
The Bubbly
Brunch isn’t really brunch if you don’t have mimosas… right??
Mimosas are very easy to self-serve and allows everyone to customize the flavours to their liking! I always include Prosecco (duhh), a few varieties of juice and some fresh berries. The juices that I find work really well with this classic cocktail are fresh orange juice (can’t beat the classics), peach juice (one of my all time faves), grapefruit juice and watermelon juice. Any flavour of juice is honestly great when it comes to mimosas.
Including liqueurs in your mimosa bar is another lovely touch that is sure to please a crowd! Liqueurs such as Chambord, St Germain Elderflower Liqueur or Grand Marnier are all great options in my opinion.
If you want to get really fancy, you can also serve homemade simple syrups in different flavours on the side for your guests. The great thing is, they are actually super simple to make (hence the name “simple syrup” 😉 )and the flavour combinations are endless! I like to infuse my simple syrup with fresh thyme leaves… absolutely delicious and definitely my fave! You can get my recipe here.
