Happy Weekend Everyone! Let’s try my Sweet & Velvety Whipped Goat Cheese with Honey & Pistachios!
It’s been a little while since I have shared a recipe with you all, so I figured today was the day!
I’m not only sharing one recipe today… but TWO variations of one of my fave quick and easy recipes, Whipped Goat Cheese! I have featured my delicately sweet variation below and you can view my tasty savoury take here.
It’s been pretty chilly lately, so I have been craving comfort foods like warm, toasty breads. The dreaded carb cravings… I know you all get them too 😉 Luckily, my Sweet & Velvety Whipped Goat Cheese with Honey & Pistachios pairs PERFECTLY with a toasty crostini or grilled naan! It will get you feeling a little fancy and elevate that plain piece of bread you have been craving!
It’s all about Goat Cheese
Goat Cheese… the perfectly creamy, little bit tart, damn delicious, spreadable cheese! Okay, I will admit that was a bit of a mouthful, but very true nonetheless!
This lovely cheese isn’t just amazing over a leafy green salad, but fabulous in so many other ways! Today I am sharing my recipe for a smooth and velvety Whipped Goat Cheese with drizzled honey, crunchy chopped pistachios and fragrant fresh thyme leaves.
This recipe is so simple and easy to make! Perfect for entertaining because it appears as if you spent all this time creating a decadent velvety spread, when in actuality, it only takes a few minutes to prepare! Definitely a crowd pleaser!!
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth myself, but don’t be fooled by the word “Sweet” Whipped Goat Cheese. This spread is very versatile and can take on almost any topping you choose to pair it with!
Feel free to go ahead and add any fresh berries that may be in season to this recipe! Berries pair very well with goat cheese and can easily take this recipe to the next level. You can even get really fancy and cook the berries down slightly with some lemon zest to get more of a warm compote to drizzle over the top of the whipped goat cheese. Roasted fresh figs, or even a fig jam are also lovely additions for toppings as well!
The possibilities for toppings are honestly endless! Go ahead, get creative and use whatever you like!
Ingredients:
For the Spread:
- 300 g Goat Cheese Log
- 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
For the Topping:
- Honey
- Chopped Pistachios
- Fresh Thyme Leaves
- Fresh Berries (optional)
Method:
In a food processor, combine the softened goat cheese and plain greek yogurt. Blend until the mixture appears whipped and silky.
Place the whipped goat cheese into a serving dish and drizzle with honey. Top with the chopped pistachios and fresh thyme leaves. Feel free to add any fresh berries that are in season, if you like!
Serve with warm bread or crackers and enjoy!
I sure hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
