I love a good breakfast smoothie and this recipe is no exception!
Sweet blueberries, ripe banana, fresh spinach and protein powder all blended up to create the most delicious, healthy smoothie that will keep you satisfied!
Seriously though, blueberries and banana have got to be one of my favourite flavour combinations when it comes to a smoothie. Plus the protein powder makes it substantial enough for breakfast which I love!
I used to have this Blueberry Banana Protein Smoothie every morning before work and I never got sick of it! Super fast and easy to make… the ultimate healthy breakfast option to be enjoyed while lounging around on the couch at home, or for anyone who is on-the-go!

In my opinion, you just can’t go wrong with blueberries! They are perfectly sweet and so good for you!!
Blueberries are known to be one of berries with the highest antioxidant levels which helps your body to fight free radicals. They are also very high in vitamins and fibre which will help you to feel fuller for longer, which makes this berry an ideal ingredient for breakfast smoothies! So you seriously have got to try this Blueberry Banana Protein Smoothie!

There are 5 simple ingredients that make this smoothie so darn good:
BLUEBERRIES → Blueberries are an incredibly nutritious, low calorie berry that is high in antioxidants! They are very low in calories but packed with nutrients that help benefit the body. Plus they taste so good!
BANANA → Bananas are a super healthy fruit that is high in potassium, fibre, vitamin C and antioxidants! They promote healthy digestion as well as heart health.
SPINACH → Spinach is a low-calorie leafy green that is packed with vitamins and nutrients like magnesium, iron and vitamin A, C and E which all help to support a healthy immune system.
PROTEIN POWDER → Protein powder is a great way to get extra protein into your diet! They are generally easy for the body to digest and can be quickly absorbed to help keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer.
WATER → Water is one of my favourite liquids to use in a smoothie. It helps to keep you hydrated and doesn’t overpower the yummy ingredients like the blueberries and banana that are used in the smoothie.
With all this talk about blueberries and bananas, I think its about time we skip down to the recipe!

Blueberry Banana Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
A small handful of spinach (about 1/4 cup)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
3/4 cup water
Method
Add the frozen blueberries, banana, spinach and vanilla protein powder and water into a blender.
Blend until smooth and enjoy!!
Recipe Notes
-If you decide to use fresh blueberries instead of frozen, then you will need to add in a small handful of ice cubes in order to achieve the perfect smoothie consistency.
