I find goat cheese to be a beautifully creamy and completely versatile cheese. It is fabulous in savoury dishes and equally as amazing in sweet dishes. Goat cheese has a wildly tangy, yet totally balanced flavour. It pairs well with countless different toppings, which can allow you to get creative!
Today I am sharing my recipe for my fave, low maintenance savoury whipped goat cheese spread topped with juicy, garlic roasted tomatoes. Made extra tasty with freshly picked basil!
It could not be more simple to put together, making it a great appetizer for get togethers. You can easily make the goat cheese spread ahead of time if you like and when it comes to the topping, all you have to do is place it in the oven and let it do its thing! It could not be more low maintenance than this!
This delicious whipped goat cheese spread pairs as an amazing addition to any charcuterie or cheese board! It is also lovely when slathered over toasty bagels, crostini or on mouth watering flatbreads!
This whipped goat cheese is a great recipe to keep handy as it is a total crowd pleaser! It is silky smooth and the spread only has two ingredients…how perfect!

Ingredients:
For the Spread:
- 300 g Goat Cheese Log
- 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
For the Topping:
- 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes
- 2 Cloves of Fresh Garlic
- 5 ml Italian Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Fresh Basil for Garnish
Method:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Cut the cherry tomatoes in half lengthwise and place in a bowl. Using a garlic press, add your fresh garlic to the bowl, you can also finely chop it if you prefer. Next add the Italian seasoning and a good quality olive oil. Mix together and transfer to a baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the tomatoes are perfectly roasted and juicy.
In a food processor, combine the softened goat cheese and plain greek yogurt. Blend until the mixture appears whipped and silky.
Place the whipped goat cheese into a serving dish and top with the roasted tomatoes. Sprinkle with fresh basil. Serve with warm bread or crackers and enjoy!
