Who doesn’t love pizza!? It is so versatile and can take on a combination of any ingredients that you like. It is honestly just sooo good and my Melty Burrata & Black Truffle Pizza is no exception!
I absolutely love creamy burrata and rich black truffle oil, so I figured why not put them together on a delicious pizza! I like to top it off with a ton of fresh basil and toasted pine nuts… so YUMMY.
Trust me, you have to try this one 🙂
My Tips To Help You Cook The Perfect Pizza
- Thin crust works best for this recipe because it doesn’t over power the more delicate ingredients like the burrata and fresh basil… although the type of pizza dough you use is totally up to you 🙂 You can make it from scratch or you can generally find fresh pizza dough at your local grocery store. If you can’t find it there, check out your local Italian Market… literally the BEST!
- If possible, allow the fresh pizza dough to reach room temperature before rolling it out. This takes around 15-30 minutes and makes the dough easier to roll out so it won’t bounce back/ shrink too quickly.
- A little trick that my sister taught me, is to heat up your pan so it is nice and hot before you place the pizza dough onto it. This creates a similar effect to a pizza stone to help crisp up the dough for the perfect bite!
- I recommend using pizza mozzarella because it isn’t as oily when melted and you get that extra stretch of cheesy goodness when you pull off a piece! Regular mozzarella works just as good though 🙂
Ingredients:
- 1 ball of thin crust pizza dough (homemade or store bought)
- 1 cup Pizza Mozzarella, shredded
- All Purpose Flour
- Black Truffle Oil
- 1 250g ball of Burrata
- 1 large handful of Fresh Basil
- 1 tbsp of Pine Nuts, toasted
- Pink Himalayan Salt
Method:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Place the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to your desired thickness (I find that approximately 1/4 inch works best).
Once the dough is nicely rolled out, place it onto a greased pizza pan. Sprinkle with the mozzarella and drizzle with the black truffle oil.
Place the pizza into the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the pizza from the oven and top with the burrata. If you like, you can place the pizza back in the oven for an additional 2 minutes to get the burrata extra melty and delicious.
Top the pizza with toasted pine nuts and lots of fresh basil. Drizzle the pizza with some more black truffle oil and a light dusting of pink Himalayan salt.
Cut into slices and enjoy!!
