This Thirsty Thursday calls for my Spiced Apple Cider Moscow Mule!
This Spiced Apple Cider Moscow Mule is the perfect way to enjoy delicious, crisp apples during the fall season! It is also a crowd pleaser at social gatherings like Thanksgiving dinner!
Moscow Mules have always been one of my favourite cocktails! I love the freshness of the lime and the hint of spice from the ginger beer (ALWAYS Fever Tree Ginger Beer for me!). I love how versatile this classic cocktail can be, so of course I had to embrace fall and mix up this super tasty and refeshing recipe!
For the Spiced Apple Cider…
As I have mentioned in my recent Crisp Apple Cider Pimm’s Cup recipe, spiced apple cider is so simple to make at home! It is filled with the classic fall flavours that we all know and love and truly makes this cocktail so unique and delicious!
I make my spiced apple cider from scratch in a slow cooker! First you want to toss a bunch of apples (quartered), one orange (quartered), ground ginger, cloves, cinnamon sticks, ground allspice and apple pie spice with enough water to cover into a slow cooker and let it cook all day! Strain and you are left with the most delicious and flavourful spiced apple cider!! You can add as much or as little of the spices as you like! I like to taste the spiced apple cider throughout the day as it cooks and adjust the spices as I go 🙂
Now let’s get to making my Spiced Apple Cider Moscow Mule!
Ingredients:
1 oz vodka
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
4 oz spiced apple cider
Fever Tree Ginger Beer
Apple slices for garnish
Lime wheel for garnish
Cinnamon stick for garnish
**see my tips at the top of this post on how to make yummy spiced apple cider in a slow cooker at home!
Method
In a cocktail shaker add a handful of ice cubes, vodka, freshly squeezed lime juice and the spiced apple cider. Shake to combine all of the ingredients and pour into a copper mug over ice.
Top with the Fever Tree Ginger Beer to fill the glass and garnish with fresh apple slices, a lime wheel and a cinnamon stick if you like!
Cheers!!
