Hello Lovelies! Today I am Sharing my TARTE SEA Skincare Review!
I have been using Tarte products for years now… specifically the cosmetics. These products are honestly so great! The foundation sits so nicely on my skin type and don’t even get me started on the blushes… absolutely STUNNING.
What first attracted me to this brand, was the fact that the products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. Tarte really puts a lot of focus into using natural ingredients, which I really love. I mean, what more could you want!?
Since I am such a fan of Tarte makeup products and use them in my everyday routine, I was really intrigued try the skincare line. I finally purchased both the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel and the Sea Drink of H2O Moisturizer and am excited to share my TARTE SEA Skincare Review with you!
To get the full experience of this skincare line, I replaced my cleanser with the TARTE SEA DEEP DIVE CLEANSING GEL both morning and night. I then replaced my nighttime moisturizer with the TARTE SEA DRINK OF H2O MOISTURIZER. I wanted to see how these products work when used together. I also wanted to see how the cleanser works in unison with the other products I use during my morning skincare routine, such as my vitamin C serum and SPF.
Here are my thoughts!
TARTE: WHAT THE BRAND IS ALL ABOUT
Tarte is a female founded brand that was created by Maureen Kelly in her one bedroom apartment in New York. It has now grown into an extremely popular brand within the beauty community, and for good reason! Tarte is a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly beauty brand that takes pride in using natural, good-for-you ingredients. Not to mention the packaging is absolutely adorable and colourful and every product is formulated without parabens, phthalates, gluten and mineral oil, just to name a few.
Tarte has launched multiple product lines within the beauty brand. Each of these product lines feature specific ingredients to benefit the health of your skin in different ways. These ingredients include, but are not limited too, maracuja, amazonian clay, algae, baobab, avocado and prickly pear.
Tarte is also known to give back to the community through non-profit organizations that help with women’s empowerment, preserving the environment and animal rescue. All around, it is a fabulous brand for so many reasons in my opinion!
TARTE SEA DEEP DIVE CLEANSING GEL
The Tarte Deep Dive Cleansing Gel is a lightweight, everyday gel cleanser that removes makeup and build up on the skin. It retails for $33.00 for 5oz (150 ml) of product.
This cleanser claims to remove even waterproof makeup without stripping the skin of its natural moisture, leaving you feeling soft and hydrated. For me personally, I ALWAYS remove my makeup with a makeup wipe, followed by a nice swipe of micellar water before cleansing. With that being said, after using this cleanser, my face feels super clean without any residue of my makeup left behind which I love! Although I cannot comment on how well it works at removing a full face of makeup as I always remove the bulk of my makeup before cleansing to get an extra deep clean.
For a gel cleanser, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it lathered! I will say, the product goes a long way and you only need one pump per wash. For me personally, a double cleanse was not necessary, as I felt this product really deep cleaned my pores, unlike some other gel cleansers that I have tried in the past.
This cleanser contains marine plant extracts to help smooth and soften the skin. This ingredient also helps with fine lines and wrinkles which is a bonus! It also contains provitamin b5 to provide intense hydration and Indian gooseberry extract which contains vitamin C to brighten the skin.
THE PROS:
- This gel cleanser lathered and massaged into my skin extremely well, leaving it feeling soft and refreshed.
- I felt this product was very lightweight and gentle, while still giving me an amazing deep clean.
- The product goes a long way, I only needed one pump per use to get a good clean.
- It played well with the other skincare products I use during my regular routine.
- This cleanser did not leave a shiny hue or a greasy feeling on my skin which I loved because my makeup would sit so nicely on my face after using it.
THE CONS:
- I wish this product came with a lid of some sort when I purchased it, as there was no form of packaging other than the bottle and pump. I imagine it is to eliminate having unnecessary waste, which is super amazing but if it had a lid to protect the pump it would feel more sanitary when sitting on the retail shelves in my opinion.
- It gave more of a subtle moisture to my face than I was expecting it to, but I did still really enjoy using this product and absolutely love it.
TARTE SEA DRINK OF H2O GEL MOISTURIZER
The Tarte Sea Drink of H2O Moisturizer is a gel moisturizer to help soothe and hydrate your skin. I really like the gel formula, it feels really silky and absorbs nicely into the skin!
This product was formulated with electrolyte balancing sea salts to help with dryness and thoroughly quench the skin. It also contains hyaluronic acid and antioxidant rich algae. These ingredients help to bring intense moisture and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
I love how this product is clean and vegan. It feels really lightweight, leaving my skin feeling refreshed! I typically followed this product after the cleansing gel before bed and every time I would wake my in the morning my skin looked bright and did not have a greasy feel which I loved!
THE PROS:
- The gel formula seemed to just melt beautifully into my skin and did not leave behind a greasy feel.
- This moisturizer hydrated my face and felt very light on my skin.
- This product worked well when used in combination with other cleansers and serums.
- The packaging is really cute!
THE CONS:
- This moisturizer gave me more of a subtle hydration than I had hoped for, although it does feel amazing on my face.
MY OVERALL THOUGHTS
Overall, I was really happy with both of these Tarte Sea Skincare products. They gave my skin a nice feeling of hydration, without feeling heavy on my face. These products did not leave behind a greasy feel or any excess shine to my skin, so I found my makeup would sit on my face beautifully and almost last longer which I was really happy with.
The scent of these products was soft and not overwhelming which I really appreciate when using skincare products! It was nice, almost like something you would expect to smell while at a visit to the spa. I will say that I do feel pretty neutral when it comes to the scent, I didn’t dislike it by any means, but I was also not blown away by the scent.
I really did enjoy these two products and will continue to use them. I don’t think I will go as far as to replace my holy grail FRESH skincare products with TARTE skincare, but I will definitely incorporate them in to my routine here and there. I think if you are looking for an everyday skincare line that is lightweight and provides you with a subtle hydration, then you should definitely try it out!
