You just can’t go wrong with a delicious Caesar!
Perfectly salty with a nice kick of spice… one of Canada’s greatest beverage inventions if you ask me!
First created in 1969 in Calgary, Alberta as the signature drink for an Italian restaurant located in the Calgary Inn Hotel (now known as the Westin Hotel)… pretty cool!
Between Christmas and New Years there are a ton of holiday get togethers, which often leads to one too many cocktails… am I right!? We’ve all been there!
For those of you who may be suffering from that dreaded hangover that comes after indulging in all of the holiday celebrations, I have just the cure… a tasty Caesar!
I don’t know what it is about caesars, but they are the best cure for a nasty hangover. Perfectly salty and topped with a variety of delicious garnishes. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to garnishes that you can use on a caesar, so why not have fun with it and create The Ultimate Caesar Garnish Board!
These boards are great to put out at parties or social gatherings. Super unique and totally easy to put together!
Get creative with it and try building one yourself!
So what makes The Ultimate Caesar Garnish Board?
You can really get creative when it comes to building your own caesar garnish board at home. Including interesting toppings allows you and your guests to customize your cocktail to be just the way you like it!
There are certain items that compliment the flavour of a Caesar perfectly. Find out some of my favourite garnishes that will transform any caesar below! ↓
You Gotta Have Crunch
Classically, caesars are paired with a celery stick. A nice crunchy bite to lighten up a salty caesar with some freshness!
You just can’t go wrong with the classics!
Something Pickled
Adding pickled vegetables is another great way to add crunch to a caesar! They pack a punch with unique flavour and pair so nicely with the hint of spice from the tabasco.
My favourite pickled vegetable to use is pickled asparagus… although pickled beans, dill pickles or even spicy pickled peppers are all great options!
Can’t Forget the Olives
In my opinion, you can’t have a caesar without olives! Olives have a unique taste that can take some getting used to.
At first, I used to hate olives… it didn’t matter what kind they were, I couldn’t stand them! Now, they are my absolute favourite garnish to have on a caesar! Jalapeño Stuffed Olives to be exact! You have got to try them!! The salty flavour pairs so well with the Clamato and Tabasco… a match made in heaven.
Something for the Meat Lovers
You can’t forget the meat lovers out there!
The light and delicate flavours of seafood is a great pairing with a caesar! My personal favourite addition is shrimp, although you could get real fancy and use a lobster tail or even seared scallops.
Pepperoni, sausage and bacon are also amazing as a caesar garnish! Feel free to even get a little crazy and include mini sliders, onion rings or jalapeño poppers on skewers. These toppings are total crowd pleasers and create a meal out of your cocktail!
Lastly, the Citrus
Last but not least, you have got to include some citrus. Traditionally, a caesar is served with fresh lime, although lemon is also great!
Citrus fully rounds out all of the flavours to create a balanced cocktail.
